New York-based entrepreneur Nabila Khashoggi owns Nabila K Cosmetics, a company focused on producing natural beauty products with the highest standards. A part of all proceeds from Nabila K Cosmetics goes toward supporting the Children for Peace (ONLUS), a nonprofit organization dear to Nabila Khashoggi.
Based in Italy, ONLUS aims to assist children around the world through supporting their education, from formal education to teaching them about drugs and non-violence. The organization’s latest project seeks to help the people of Sama, a remote village in Mali. The project entails funding an orchard in the village that will provide food for locals, ensuring that the children do not go hungry and can focus on their studies. Previous projects in Sama included building a clinic, drilling a well, and providing educational programs that covered topics such as pregnancy follow-up, AIDS prevention, genital cutting, and vaccinations.
ONLUS has worked in Sama since 2009, after partnering with the University of Malaga’s Mujeres Solidarias. The two organizations are working together to develop the village, reverse the high death rate among mothers and newborn babies, and promote women’s equality.
